Olaf Scholz

Olaf Scholz is a German politician and member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). He has served as the Chancellor of Germany since December 2021. Scholz was previously the Vice Chancellor and Minister of Finance in the coalition government led by Angela Merkel. Born on June 14, 1958, in Hamburg, he has held various political positions at the federal and state levels, including Mayor of Hamburg from 2011 to 2018. Scholz’s political career has been marked by his pragmatic approach to governance and economic policy, particularly during crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
